Indra partners with Allstar to offer streamlined approach for at-home electric vehicle fleet charging

Leading electric vehicle (EV) charging manufacturer, Indra, has announced a new partnership with electric vehicle fleet solution giant, Allstar to streamline at-home charging for fleet drivers.

Ahead of the government’s 2035 ban on the sale of internal combustion engines (ICEs), there has been a nationwide push to replace petrol and diesel vehicles with the electric alternatives which has seen fleets gradually making the move to EVs.

The partnership between Indra and Allstar aims to make this transition as seamless as possible, with the full range of Indra’s smart EV chargers, including the new Smart LUX, integrating with Allstar’s Homecharge payment platform for fleet and business customers.

Indra’s new fleet solution mitigates key challenges faced by fleet managers in transitioning from diesel to electric, such as non-compatible chargers and reimbursement delays, as the partnership enables a simple solution for at-home charging for fleet drivers.

The solution also offers other significant benefits. Having employees charge fleet vehicles at home means that vehicles can be charged overnight when electricity is cheaper – a huge financial advantage for fleet managers. It also means that fleet assets are less likely to need charging during the day, thus keeping vehicle availability optimal.

Thanks to the integration, drivers are able to automatically share charging data with their fleet manager, reducing the need to manually record the time spent charging as well as submitting expenses. Instead, costs are reimbursed quickly and efficiently with only essential data shared, ensuring drivers’ personal energy usage remains private, while fleet managers receive all the information necessary for managing their fleets’ charging activity.

What’s more, the technology behind the integration ensures that drivers maintain full control over their EV charger, retaining access to the complete catalogue of features including lock charger functionality, solar functionality, boost functionality and ability to access their preferred tariff.

Plus, fleet drivers using Indra’s EV chargers will also have access to Indra’s top-of-the-range app and customer support services.

Matt Noonan, Head of Software Products at Indra, said: “We are incredibly excited to announce this new partnership between Indra and Allstar.

“We have worked closely with fleet management service providers to identify key challenges to electric vehicle uptake and are confident that this partnership will help solve these issues, allowing drivers to retain control and privacy within their own homes whilst enabling fleet managers to receive required data quickly, accurately, and securely.

“Drivers will have access to the full range of functions associated with our cutting-edge Indra chargers and can be assured that they are receiving a top-level service from all parties involved.”

Ashley Tate, MD, Allstar Chargepass UK, added:

“Providing at-home charging is an increasingly critical capability for businesses to offer to their drivers. Our latest research found that charging at home is the cheapest option when it comes to recharging fleets.

So, not only is it cost effective but it’s convenient for both drivers and their employers. Our Homecharge solution automatically, and accurately pays all drivers’ home charging costs directly to their energy suppliers. Drivers are never out of pocket and it provides businesses with accurate cost management and transparency. With a streamlined process of paying for electric vehicle charging, businesses could significantly reduce their reliance on expense claims or an outdated reimbursement method such as AER.

Our partners at Indra understand that convenience is king, which is why they have delivered one of the best EV chargers available. Coupled with Allstar’s Homecharge solution, customers will be confident that they are accurately paying for the true cost of electric vehicle charging for business use at home.

It’s an exciting time for EV fleets and we look forward to developing our partnership with Indra.”
